Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA)

There is a limited amount of play space available to children living in Mowmacre Hill, most green spaces have signs forbidding the playing of ball games and the streets are full of cars. At the Playground we only have the sports hall designed for ball games and access is limited to club opening times and not available since Covid-19.

Why?

“We want to build a ball court where children have unrestricted access and the freedom to play’”.

The provision of a Ball Court, where children have unrestricted access and freedom to play would encourage physical and social development for 100’s of local children. Every other Leicester estate has multiple ball courts providing local young people with their own space to engage in sports and games.

How?

We will need to develop a project management group of local residents and young people.

Identify Equipment

We will need to identify what equipment would be most appropriate for our setting and community.

Develop Partnerships

We will need to apply for funding, find sponsors, work with and develop partnerships.
